Stoughton MA Children's Family Session
Some homes hold more than furniture and family routines, they hold memories, laughter, growth, and love. That was certainly true for this beautiful family in Stoughton, MA, who invited me to photograph their three wonderful children just before saying goodbye to their childhood home. The portrait session was a heartfelt Mother’s Day gift, planned to honor not just the home they had outgrown, but the roots that helped them flourish.
The Howarth Children are absolutely adorable and naturals in front of the lens. Just like their mother they have a really big heart. The session is a surprise for someone special and they were happy to do whatever it would take to make it a success. They have lots of love for one another, are really close and its evident in their interactions. The highlight of the session was climbing a tree on their front yard and running around the backyard to warm up.
Fiona 9, enjoys reading, gardening as well as arts and crafts can you say sophisticated? Yes those were my first thoughts of her. Violet 8 enjoys gymnastics and dance and was happy to give me a sneak peak I was completely touched when she picked flowers for me at the end of the session. Connor was really proud to show me his dance moves and boy can he dance.
My heart was full after spending time with this family what a treat on such a cold spring day. Here are just afew of my favorite images to capture the day.
Photographing the Spirit of Siblings and the Magic of Home:
The Howarth children are truly something special. With warm hearts and joyful energy, they reminded me of how beautiful sibling bonds can be. Just like their mother, they radiate kindness and an easygoing charm that made our session a delight.
This portrait session wasn’t just about photographing smiles it was about celebrating the home where they grew up. The tree in their front yard? A favorite climbing spot. The backyard? A playground of imagination and laughter. We spent time running around, chasing light and joy, all while preserving the essence of a home that had shaped their earliest years.
A Peek Into Their Personalities:
Each child brought their unique spark to the session:
Fiona (9) has a graceful, thoughtful presence. She enjoys reading, gardening, and arts & crafts and yes, she’s as sophisticated as that sounds. Her poise and quiet confidence left a lasting impression.
Violet (8) is a burst of joyful energy. A lover of gymnastics and dance, she surprised me with a spontaneous mini performance during our time together. She even picked flowers for me at the end of the session a moment I’ll never forget.
Connor, the youngest, was eager to show off his dance moves and he did not disappoint. His confidence and charisma had us all smiling.
Despite the chill in the spring air, the love and connection between the siblings made the day feel warm and full of life. It was a session I’ll always remember.
Heirloom Artwork That Tells Their Story:
This experience was never just about photographing children, it was about preserving a legacy. After the session, the family chose to invest in beautiful portrait artwork for their new home, ensuring that the memories of their childhood space would always be with them.
They also selected gift prints for Father’s Day a touching surprise for Grandpa, and a custom-designed album gifted to Dad, filled with heartfelt moments from the session. Every piece chosen was meaningful, intentional, and a reflection of their love for one another.
Why These Portraits Matter:
As a photographer, I believe in honoring life's transitions through portraiture. When a family is preparing to move, especially from a beloved childhood home, it’s the perfect time to pause and reflect. These images now serve as a tangible connection to a place that held bedtime stories, backyard adventures, and countless milestones.
At Seraphine Photography, I specialize in creating luxury portrait experiences that feel relaxed, meaningful, and personal—whether in-studio, outdoors, or in the heart of your own home.
