Golden Hour Spring Family Portraits at Eleanor Bradley Estate in Canton MA

Springtime at the Bradley Estate is always magical, but this family session was extra special. Their eldest daughter was about to graduate from South Shore Charter High School in Norwell, marking a major milestone for their family. Capturing this moment together before she embarked on her next chapter made the session even more meaningful.

Although our original session date was rained out—a common occurrence in spring—we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect rain date. The day was crisp, the tulips in the gardens were in full bloom, and as the session unfolded, we were treated to an absolutely stunning golden-hour sunset.

A Fun and Heartfelt Family Experience

From the moment we started, this family radiated love and connection. Each member fully embraced the experience, making time to enjoy moments together. There was plenty of laughter, a playful chest bump between Dad and the youngest—a preteen at the time—who was more than happy to match his energy, and a joyful stroll through the gardens.

One of the sweetest moments of the session was witnessing the special bond between father and child. Seeing the youngest enthusiastically share in Dad’s playful energy was a perfect reminder of how portraits capture not only faces but the relationships and genuine emotions behind them.

When it was time for couples portraits, the teens explored the estate, gravitating toward the stunning flowering shrubs—the perfect backdrop for their individual portraits.

The Importance of a Design & Planning Consultation

A truly exceptional portrait experience begins long before the camera comes out. That’s why every session includes a portrait and design consultation appointment, which in this case, took place in the comfort of their home in the evening—a key part of my concierge service.

This personalized consultation is an essential part of the process because it:

Helps us design a session that reflects your family’s personality, style, and unique story.
Allows us to plan wardrobe selections that complement your vision and home décor.
Ensures we choose the perfect location—whether in-studio, at your home, or a scenic outdoor space.
Gives us the opportunity to discuss how you’d like to display your portraits, from wall art to heirloom albums.

Whether we meet in your home or at my studio, this tailored approach guarantees that your final portraits are not only beautiful but also meaningful and intentional.

Style & Wardrobe: A Timeless Look for Heirloom Portraits

The family chose a timeless color palette of soft neutrals and blues, which blended beautifully with the lush greens and vibrant florals at the Bradley Estate. Their wardrobe choices not only looked amazing in the moment but also ensured that their portraits would remain classic and elegant on their walls for years to come. I always guide my clients through the wardrobe selection process during our planning meetings, helping them feel both comfortable and impeccably styled.

A Heartwarming Reveal & Cherished Heirloom Artwork

One of the most rewarding moments of the entire experience was our reveal session. Sitting together as a family and reliving the joy of their session while selecting their favorite portraits was truly special. Watching them choose images that best represented their personalities and family bond was a beautiful reminder of why I love what I do.

The family chose to preserve these memories in a stunning heirloom album, a timeless keepsake they can flip through for years to come. Additionally, they invested in a 5-piece wall art gallery that will serve as a daily reminder of this special chapter in their lives. Their collection includes:

  • A large centerpiece portrait of the entire family, capturing their connection and joy.

  • Four individual portraits—one of Mom and Dad together, and one of each of their children—each beautifully sized to showcase the warmth and expression in every face.

Seeing their custom artwork displayed in their home—a permanent reflection of their love and legacy—was as fulfilling for me as it was for them.

If you have a senior about to graduate or simply want to celebrate your family’s bond, I’d love to help you create timeless portraits that will be cherished for generations.
